P&C stocks fall in first quarter of 2016

The average share price for the Insider 30 universe of P&C (re)insurers fell by 2.65 percent in the first quarter of 2016, underperforming the FTSE 100 and the S&P 500.

The result marked a dramatic turnaround from a strong 2015, where share prices advanced by 5 percent in three of the four quarters, aided by M&A speculation and a benign loss environment.
