Pear Talent is representing a financial services business looking for a Financial Controller. Reporting to the Finance Director and with significant Board interaction you’ll lead a team of 10+ with responsibility for all key financial reporting and FP&A, including delivery of the strategic plan. You will also need to provide development and guidance to the team whilst leading them through a challenging financial improvement programme.
Key accountabilities:
- Support FD in advising the Exec/Board on short and long term financial strategy
- Lead financial and management reporting, including ensuring its integrity and that outputs are maintained and continuously improved
- Lead the plan and 5 year forecasts, as well as providing management information and analysis to the Board
- Ensuring the finance team is motivated and performing to the highest standard
- Taking an active role in supporting the business in order to deliver on its commercial goals
- Taking a proactive approach to develop the finance systems and tools, in order to anticipate future growth and demands required
- Overseeing the finance operations function, including treasury, accounts payable, payroll, expenses, and banking
Required experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) with significant post-qualified experience gained in FS
- Proven track record of managing significant financial accounting / reporting transformations
- Ability to quickly gain credibility at senior levels within the business and demonstrate both first class project management and communication skills
- Financial reporting and accounting experience (including FP&A / planning and forecasting)
- Able to work effectively across across departments and experience of managing multi-location teams
- Strong presentation skills and people skills, good influencer
