Pear Talent is representing a FTSE100 financial services group who have an excellent opportunity for an Investor Relations Manager in the City. Following the Group’s rapid growth, the level of coverage from both sell-side analysts and investors has increased significantly, as has the complexity of the business.

You’ll support the IR Director and play a lead role in managing the Group’s relationships with its institutional investors, as well as communicate the Group’s equity story and business performance to the financial markets.

This person will also help shape the way that the IR team communicates Group results to the market, and the evolution of the Company’s equity story to investors.

You will interact with investors and analysts as an ambassador for the Group and take a lead role in developing the financial metrics used to present future M&A opportunities to market. This is a high-profile position both within the Group with regular Exec interaction, as well as liaising with investors and financial market representatives externally.

Key accountabilities:

  • To lead on the Group’s engagement with the sell-side analysts.
  • To lead on responding to financial and technical Q&A received from analysts and investors
  • To act as a link between the IR team and the business to ensure that IR have a robust understanding of the key drivers of business performance and develop these into the equity story, including the evolution of the Group’s key reporting metrics
  • To lead on peer analysis across the sector
  • To lead monitoring of share price performance and provide analysis with reference to market conditions and sector trends
  • To prepare briefing materials for EXCO

Required experience:

  • Qualified accountant or actuary with post qualified experience
  • A strong financial services background, ideally knowledge of Insurance (Solvency II and IFRS adv.)
  • Capital markets experience from investor relations, corporate broking or sell-side analyst roles
  • Able to understand the complexities of the financial drivers of the business
  • Strong financial analytical skills to understand financial modelling of the sell side analysts
  • Excellent communication skills – the ability to understand and explain complex concepts simply. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to interact with a wide variety of people including very senior internal and external stakeholders and to work within a team to deliver under extreme time pressure
