Pear Talent is representing a FTSE100 Financial Services group who have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Manager in their Group Finance team to be lead Finance Business Partner for group-wide IT Cost. The business has launched a significant cost programme, intended to achieve £ millions in long-term savings, by close partnership with business leadership, specific strategic cost reduction initiatives and improved cost insight reporting. This person will partner closely with the CTO and IT leadership across the business to influence IT and Digital strategy whilst also supporting the wider cost programme targets.

You’ll act as the Finance lead for IT in a high-profile role, owning key stakeholder relationships across the business, providing financial insight, developing business cases, as well as both supporting and challenging key decision making on IT and Digital strategy.

Key accountabilities:

  • Lead Finance Business Partner for IT strategy, providing financial insight for the CTO and Digital Strategy Director.
  • Partner with relevant teams to develop IT business cases fit for robust cost/benefit review and challenge.
  • Support the design of an enhanced method of demonstrating how IT spend delivers both benefit and value outcomes.
  • Identify and promote technological developments with long-term benefit to the cost targets.
  • Liaise between Finance and IT to ensure accurate and insightful cost reporting, as well as any necessary system and process improvement.
  • Identify, design and implement improvements to the insight and reporting of group-wide IT cost base, to better inform decision making.

Required experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
  • Previous blue-chip/FTSE listed company experience – ideally in Financial Services
  • Large-scale (££ millions) IT cost management, reduction, optimisation programmes
  • Detailed understanding of an IT cost base and its components
  • Experience of developing significant IT/technology business cases
  • Build relationships and influence senior/Exec stakeholders across complex matrix structure
  • Robust business partnering skills, able to challenge and drive a programme’s agenda
